The Tribe is a collection of artists with a passion for creating theatre that is actor-centred, intuitively experiential and creatively alive. We work always towards unearthing the hidden truths of the material, both classical and contemporary, in work that strives to be bold, unfailingly honest and uncompromising.

I started the company at the beginning of 2019 with a wonderful group of actors, graduates of Central and LAMDA – Benjamin Way, Hattie Seaton, Tori Zdovc and Andy Laithwaite. We worked towards our first production together, Dostoyevsky’s Crime and Punishment, which we performed at The Cockpit Theatre in London in June 2019.

We worked primarily with the Demidov technique in the creation of the piece and the actors were extremely brave, generous and responsive. It is, I hope, the beginning of our journey together in this. Crime and Punishment will have another life in January 2020, and there are other irons in the fire for later in 2020.
